If you can spare a few hours a week or more, why not help us to help others, while benefiting yourself at Growing 2gether. Horticultural activities are open to all and are aimed especially at giving opportunities to those within the community who are disadvantaged in some way.

SUPPORTED VOLUNTEERING

At Growing 2gether we provide support for many people; mainly adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health problems. In addition we work with young people from both mainstream schools and educational establishments as well as pupil referral units and other educational partnerships.
We specialise in providing support to develop our participants’ capacity to become more skilled, independent and confident members of the community. Supported volunteers are involved in all aspects of running the project including tidying the site, weeding, planting and harvesting vegetables and making hanging baskets.

ROAR GROUP

Our ROAR (Rangers on Active Response) Group welcomes adults with learning disabilities who enjoy being outdoors. With the support of Volunteer Mentors, ROAR members collect litter and clear footpaths in Newbury and the surrounding area. One-to-one support can be provided for members with more profound disabilities.
