TEACHING THE NEXT GENERATION
The Renewal Project runs a variety of school activities and children’s events focusing on teaching our young ones about the importance of caring for our waterways and preserving the environment.
We run a Forest School in a woodland near the river in Shaw twice a month as part of our children’s events series. Our trained Forest Schools Education Officer teaches the children about wildlife and forest management through child-led play.
During the school holidays we run river dipping sessions with children at the Riverside Community Centre holiday club. They love to see what they can find in the river and identify it on one of our charts!
